Uncolored Charm (2018-2019)
Digital Photography
Being pressured by the Instagram aesthetics and other photographers who have excellent photo editing skills, I have been used to spending a large amount of time editing my photos in Photoshop, Lightroom, and editing app like VSCO. I tend to consider the photos which have more dramatic changes after being edited as more “well-edited” than photos which look just slightly different than the original ones. In order to remind myself that editing is just part of photography, and nice color and cool lighting are not the only standards for a good photo, I challenged myself to take a series of photos of nature and edit them in black and white. Knowing that I won’t be able to play with the colors in this photos, I became more careful when I was looking for the subjects I wanted to photograph as well as finding the compositions.
